The center for dog meat slaughterhouses in China is Changchun, the capital of northeast China’s Jilin province. Changchun has three large main dog slaughterhouses which receive around 15+ loaded dog trucks EVERY DAY! Each dog truck is carrying between 400 to 500 live dogs.
We do not have the actual number of all the dog slaughterhouses in Changchun, however based on accurate information from the three major slaughterhouses (listed below), they alone are slaughtering over 7,000 dogs EACH DAY.
Day in, day out, every day of the week, year round.
Changchun’s three large main dog slaughterhouses:
(1) Heilong Town, Xiao XiGou Village Wag Liying Slaughterhouse
(2) Green Park District Dayingzi Village Wang Ting slaughterhouse
(3) Changchun City Yongchun town Slaughterhouse 81
Changchun Bayi Slaughterhouse 81 (also known as Yongchun slaughterhouse) has been operating for 18 YEARS, and is owned by Dong Wanquan. Its one of the three main dog slaughterhouses in Changchun. It slaughters around 3,000 per day – just at this one slaughterhouse. Dogs are slaughtered for processing with diseases, illnesses, cancers, heavily pregnant, wearing house collars, and so on.
Changchun is the capital of the province of Jilin (the State), and Jilin has over 50+ dog slaughterhouses. These businesses are in operation every day, but the three largest slaughterhouses are in Changchun.
“Changchun Bayi slaughterhouse owner Dong Wanquan, is the supply of the three northeastern provinces of the largest dog traffickers, killing dog every day 3000, the slaughterhouse opened 18 years, dogs shipped over dogs with canine plague, small, large cancer, including stolen Necklace dog, stray dog, pregnant dog mother, dog bastard, all massacre, quarantine failure, please check the relevant departments of the inspection department!” said a local Chinese animal rescuer.
Each year millions of dogs are cruelly slaughtered in Changchun. These are commercial slaughterhouses, where dog butchers have to move through large numbers of dogs at a fast pace. Its all about getting paid by pushing out the numbers of dogs. Sadly, we are talking about live dogs who are terrified, injured and /or ill. Many have been people’s pets which have been stolen.
Not all the dogs are stolen though. The fact is some local pet owners no longer want to be bothered with a pet dog and sell their own pet to dog traders or dog butchers, to make a few dollars in return. Or they abandon their once loved pet onto the streets, for it to become fodder for dog snatchers.
I have traveled through China many times and are heading back there next month.
Some people feel Yulin is the key location for dog meat slaughterhouses in China. In recent years local Chinese activists have made great progress to shut down the Yulin event. International press and celebrities have brought further shame to it. Meanwhile, Changchun dog slaughterhouse owners have laughed themselves silly, as they continue slaughtering millions of dogs, unnoticed.
