China: Dog Meat Dog Dragged Behind A Car
Another live dog meat dog has been dragged to it’s death, tied behind a car traveling on city roads in China. It took place in Lishui, Zhejiang and has left Chinese animal activists appalled and furious. The driver has been identified thorough his vehicle number plate.
The black Audi vehicle is license plate number: K5307L, a local license plate. The car is registered in Zhejiang Lishui Yunhe County. The dog was dragged at 4pm in the afternoon, along East Road, Zhejiang.
Information is not totally clear, but it appears that activists may have confronted the driver, who is a highway administration civil servant. On Chinese social media they have posted his name, date of birth 1963, place of employment, department and phone number (for Chinese contacts only.)
While it is morally corrupt to drag a live animal to it’s death behind a moving car, it is not illegal in China (unless the dog is stolen – then it’s stolen property.) So consequently this dog was not able to be forcibly removed from the driver, much to the painful frustration of local animal activists who were very distressed.
