This poor dog is still alive. His tail is straight but at the 4 second mark he bends his tail at a right angle and slightly lifts his head, then straightens his tail again. His agony is so great he’s unable to yell out. I’ve watched the video several times. At first I thought rigor mortis had set in because his front legs stayed drawn up. But his tongue is ‘not’ hanging out and you can see his tail moving during the video.

Xianyang is located in Hubei province, where this disgusting Wangcun dog market is a regular fixture. Dog, cats, chickens, ducks and more animals are openly slaughtered in full view of passers by, in broad daylight.

It means nothing that China announced dogs are not for human consumption. Likewise people around the world were too quick to jump on the bandwagon to cheer the new “law” in. Of course it was never going to work! There’s too much cash money changing hands for the dog meat trade to just end. Its not that simple.

Fight Dog Meat will continue to bring you reports from dog and cat meat countries and the wonderful work their rescuers are doing despite no animal protection laws. Turning away or sitting quietly does not end the trade. We’ll keep exposing what is taking place to these animals. We’re helping local volunteers have a louder voice on a world platform. Ultimately it’s the voice of the country’s own people whom their government will eventually be forced to listen to, for positive change for animals.
