“You have to let them starve to make them die. If you feed them they will keep living.”
“All of the food you gave them, I threw it all away.”
“If you continue to feed them and every time you feed them, I will kill a cat and leave it in front of your place.”
She admitted to secretly throwing away all the food that residents put out for the cats to eat because she wanted the cats to starve.
For years long term residents in the same housing complex in District 1 have fed these 20+ stray cats every day. The cats control the rodent population, which benefits residents. The manager of the complex is also a cat lover. None of the residents had an issue with the cats.
Residents tried to negotiate with the married couple and offered to hire someone to clean up after the cats, to avoid affecting their business.
Days earlier the restaurant owner tricked residents by pretending to care as she asked a local cat-help group to take them away. This was a trick because she poisoned them anyway.
The couple brutally poisoned the cats and kittens in the middle of the night. Residents woke up to see cat bodies scattered in grotesque positions from agonizing deaths. Adult cats and kittens alike. All the kittens were dead but some adult cats lay groaning and writhing in agony. Resident animal lovers rushed the dying cats to emergency vet clinics but almost all of them died of poison.
The manager of the apartment building said:
“In this apartment building it is not allowed to kill or bait cats. They can only be relocated, fostered or adopted.”
Some of the cats had just recently given birth. The cat-help group members are devastated the restaurant owners wouldn’t allow them time to make preparations to save the cats and kittens.
The restaurant owners are only tenants in the building complex; not owners or managers. They only moved into the complex two months ago. Since killing the cats long term housing residents said rats and mice have come back in growing numbers because it was the cats who controlled the rodent population.

Fight Dog Meat will continue to bring you reports from dog and cat meat countries and the work rescuers are doing despite no animal protection laws. Turning away or sitting quietly does not end the trade. We’ll keep exposing what is taking place to these animals. We’re helping local volunteers have a louder voice on a world platform. Ultimately it’s the voice of the country’s own people whom their government will eventually be forced to listen to, for positive change for animals by implementing and enforcing animal protection laws.
