Adopting Overseas

We’re very grateful to each family who adopt one of our very loved rescue animals. When one gets adopted a space opens for another animal to have a chance for happiness and love.

We want to be sure our dogs are going to a great family who will love and care for them unconditionally.

Our dog and cat safety is very important to us. We’re looking for families abroad who will care about them as much as us, so they never face a butcher again.

Rabies Titer Test for Pets: Vietnam to Europe

The first step is for your animal to have a blood sample taken in Vietnam, which is sent to an approved laboratory in Europe.

The test makes sure your animal has developed sufficient rabies antibodies. Its called a Rabies Titer Test (RTT.)

Assuming your animal passes the test they can fly 60 days from the day the sample was taken. The price of the mandatory RTT is $800.

Mandatory Titer Test

Attention animal lovers looking to give a deserving dog a loving home! New regulations have been implemented for overseas rescue dogs entering the United States. This means an additional step for adopting a furry friend from Vietnam, but fear not – Fight Dog Meat (FDM) is here to help!

Here’s what you need to know: the US, Europe and UK require a mandatory “titer test” for all rescue dogs arriving from overseas. This blood test, performed at a specialized overseas laboratory, measures the presence and level of antibodies in the dog’s blood, indicating immunity to rabies.

The process might seem daunting, but don’t worry! Here at FDM, we understand the importance of streamlining the adoption process and ensuring the well-being of our rescued pups. The titer test costs approximately $800 USD. We want to make welcoming your new furry family member from Vietnam as smooth as possible.

Mandatory Rabies Titer Test (RTT): $800

The Rabies Titer Test (RTT) is a blood test that measures the level of rabies antibodies in an animal’s blood. This test is required for all dogs entering the United States, UK and Europe.

The cost of transportation varies depending on the size of the animal, the airline used, and the destination. There are two ways to fly animals abroad: with a flight volunteer or as manifest cargo.

Flight volunteers: Flight volunteers are people willing to bring an animal back to the USA with the animal traveling as excess luggage, to their already existing ticket. Flight volunteers help keep costs down for FDM to fly an animal.

Manifest cargo: Manifest cargo costs a lot more for the adopter, but your pet can travel quickly and fly at your convenience.
