Not only are the dogs tossed into a 44 gallon drum of boiling water over hot coals, but they’re tossed in together. It is beyond my imagination to grasp the level of suffering these twodogs endured. Its absolutely disgusting.
This video may only be five seconds long, but its deeply disturbing. These men are not starving to death. They look well fed and healthy. This is just plain animal cruelty, hidden behind the veil of dog meat.
These men had obviously boiled dogs alive before this day. They had a cover ready to slam over the drum to stop the flailing dogs escaping. The cover would also muffle the screams of agony! The men moved with precision and knew exactly what they were doing.
My file of videos of dogs being boiled alive keeps growing in number. What we see is only the tip of the iceberg. I believe this shocking practice takes place in many dog eating countries, with staggering numbers of dogs being boiled alive. With Yulin dog eating festival only weeks away, goodness knows what we’ll see this time around.
Fight Dog Meat will continue to bring you reports from dog and cat meat countries and the wonderful work their rescuers are doing despite no animal protection laws. Turning away or sitting quietly does not end the trade. We’ll keep exposing what is taking place to these animals. We’re helping local volunteers have a louder voice on a world platform. Ultimately it’s the voice of the country’s own people whom their government will eventually be forced to listen to, for positive change for animals.

Excuse me but the venom that comes out of people’s mouths on these threads are absolutely toxic. Yes there is extensive cruelty with the dog meat trade. But throwing poison arrows at Korean people is not helpful and it adds to the negativity immensely. The Korean people started eating dog meat because of hunger during the Korean War. The old people are following a cultural practice that is rooted in trauma. There are many Korean people trying to address this issue as well, but when people outside the culture come in and project their hatred at the people of Korea, it really undermines their movements from within the culture. We should be building relationships. Seriously, stop reacting from a place of toxicity and ground your emotional reactions so we can actually make some progress. You can’t come in as outsiders and change a culture in this manner. Use your heads people.
