Central Vietnam’s famous tourist town is Old Town in Hoi An. Its an international destination for tourists. The thoroughfare of Old Town is Trấn Phú. This morning a dog butcher ferociously brutalized a pet dog outside house number 168 Trấn Phú, in Hoi An. The critically injured dog was still alive as the butcher threw the dog on his motorbike and drove off with it. The butcher wore the green uniform jacket of the local Grab motorbike messenger/taxi service.

Hoi An local government recently announced no more dog meat will be tolerated in their town. Unfortunately this doesn’t mean its eradicated. Five minutes drive from Hoi An to neighboring town Da Nang, there’s dog traders and butchers with dogs for dog meat.

The poor dog in the video was easy an easy target for the butcher. The dog not afraid of people and didn’t know to run.

The butcher had done this before.

He knew exactly what he was doing.

He slammed the screaming dog full force into the concrete ground three times in succession. The dog was still alive and groaning in agony.

The butcher did this attack in broad daylight! He made no attempt to hide his brutal attack or conceal the dog slumped on the front of his motorbike. Laws only work if they’re upheld. Otherwise they’re nothing but paper tiger laws. (Video footage was captured by street cameras.)

What is it going to take for Vietnam to implement animal protection laws?

This vicious act of unspeakable animal cruelty took place in Hoi An. Now we watch to see what the city government of Hoi An do in response. The butcher needs to be found and held responsible by the city. How many times do we need to say it:
