It is almost Christmas Eve and I am asking you to please stop and spare a thought for all the dogs who right now are crammed into death cages in slaughterhouses, waiting their turn to be brutally slaughtered, for someone’s Christmas dinner.
The following information may be shocking, but throughout dog and cat meat eating countries, Christians are often the main dog meat eaters and consequently, Christmas is one the busiest times of year for dog butchers. Many mainstream big name churches and local denominations order dog meat for their festivities and “fellowship” occasions.
Many individual Christians living in dog eating countries order dog meat for their family Christmas meal. Some ‘Christians’ will buy a live dog and take it home and kill it “traditionally” – which means inflicting gross pain onto the dog until it’s moment of death. This is a deliberate action designed to make the meat as tough as possible – which is falsely believed to boost a man’s libido and impart a number of healing powers.
A South Korean lady who now lives in the same city as me in Queensland, Australia, granted me an interview about her Christian congregation back in Seoul, which until recently she had been a member of. The Christian “elder” bought a live dog which was driven to the congregation picnic, where it was hung from a tree and beaten to death in full view of the congregation of men, women and children, before being barbecued. None of the congregation even blinked.
[Note: this story was told me face to face by a lady living in Queensland and is in no way connected to any other story or person.] In another article I will tell her experience in full.
In conclusion, please try to take a moment to remember the dogs and cats in the pet meat trade. While it may be a jolly time for many people, it is not a jolly time for dogs and cats in the meat trade.
